When You’re Ready for Therapy That Works Differently

You may be someone who has been living with trauma, anxiety, or depression for a long time. You may have tried therapy before and found that, while it helped you understand things, the symptoms are still there. You may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward.

It can be exhausting to keep managing this day to day.

Julia Sorensen, Certified Trauma Therapist

"Over the years, I have developed a strong understanding of what supports real healing and what does not. This allows me to offer therapy that is both personalized and grounded in proven approaches."

WHERE I STARTED

I began my work in therapy in a variety of settings, including community, educational, and hospital environments. This gave me experience supporting people across different stages of life and with a wide range of challenges.

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED

Through years of practice, training, and ongoing clinical supervision, I have learned that not all therapy approaches create meaningful change. Some approaches focus on insight, while others support deeper processing and lasting shifts. My work focuses on the approaches that help reduce symptoms and support real progress.

HOW I WORK NOW

My approach is trauma-informed, which means we focus on safety, pacing, and stabilization first. From there, we may move into deeper work using EMDR Trauma Therapy or other evidence-based strategies, depending on what we decide together is the most appropriate for you.
